The Regent Christian Academy Founder’s Bursary (Awarded to the recipient of the Student of the Year Award)

Regent was founded in 1978, when God spoke clearly to pastor Kirk Duncan and leaders of Bible Fellowship Church that He wanted a place where He could be free to touch hearts and lives. God wanted a school where His Word would always be lifted high, and where worship and His presence would be a way of life

RCA is a ministry of Horizon Church fulfilling a mandate to train children according to Biblical principles.  By partnering with homes and churches, Regent Christian Academy is developing and inspiring the leaders and influencers of tomorrow to positively impact their world.

Since the school’s inception in 1978, the motto of Regent Christian Academy has been “Mighty in Spirit.”  The motto is derived from the biblical story of Daniel.    Regent Christian Academy takes inspiration from Daniel’s story.  RCA seeks to support parents in training their children for personal success and godly influence.  In addition to training in academics, the arts, physical development, and technology, children are trained in moral conduct and ethical decision making.  Students are taught to discern the times and to apply biblical principles in every situation.  Students learn about the character of God and are encouraged to pursue Him with passion.   They are encouraged to bring redemptive principles to the world in which they live and glorify God in everything they do.  Our aim is to graduate students “Mighty in Spirit.”

The Regent Christian Academy Founders Mighty in Spirit Bursary has a value of $1,000 to go towards post-secondary education.  The bursary is presented to the student whose life best reflects the founding values of RCA and who would seek to continually live out those values in their educational, career and personal goals.

The Founder’s Bursary is presented to the student who is voted by classmates and affirmed by faculty as the Student of the Year.
