Details Regarding In-Class Learning from June 1 – 12

Please read through the following information to help you make an informed decision regarding registering for in-class learning through the link below.

Dear Parents

As you know, on June 1st, RCA will be offering 20% in-class learning for students in grades 7 – 12. This partial re-entry is mandated by the Ministry of Education and is optional to your students. To the best of their ability our teachers, have and will continue to provide, not just continuity of learning, but the best learning possible.   Over the past nine weeks we have been stretched and challenged in many ways, but the one thing that has stayed constant is our certain knowledge that this was not a surprise to God – He’s got this!

Teachers will be working to ensure that all students are able to complete their courses with meaningful learning activities and encouraging students to finish work and end strong.  Our teachers will be available to students for help and support throughout this time because they are committed to the students’ success.

There are many moving parts in the discussion of what partial re-entry into school should look like, from health and safety to deciding what learning work students will be doing.  In putting together our plan for the two weeks in June, we have tried to keep the protocols of physical distancing and hygiene first and foremost, so our timetable and use of spaces will not look like it did before Spring Break.

Please see the information below regarding the dates, times, and health measures for our school re-entry plan.  The focus of these last two weeks is on wrapping up the school year in the core courses and provide students with the opportunity for face-to-face interaction with their teachers.  Grade 7 and 8 teachers will communicate a more detailed schedule later in the week, and we will post details to the Grade 9-12s on their Google Classroom pages.
