Dear RCA Parents and Guardians,
As of late yesterday afternoon, B.C. Provincial Health officials have strongly advised against all non-essential travel outside of Canada including the United States. Why? “We need to be able to ensure that our schools and our workplaces remain safe” (Bonnie Henry, Provincial health officer). Dr. Henry further indicated that anyone who chooses to travel outside of Canada will be required to stay away from work or school for fourteen days upon their return to the province.
RCA is asking all staff and students to follow this directive and will require anyone who travels outside of Canada, including the United States, to wait 14 days from the date of their arrival back in Canada before returning to the RCA campus.
Parents and staff should be aware that schools may be ordered closed in certain regions or across the province. Parents should be prepared to find care for their children in such an event. Our administrators are working on plans to deliver curriculum to students on-line in the event that schools close. We are closely following recommendations and mandates from the Ministry of Education and the health authorities.
